Georgia is in a geographically tumultuous area: surrounded by Islamic countries and with Russia to the north, they have had a troubled religious history. Christianity is strong part of the culture of the country, remaining through countless Muslim invasions and more recently Soviet suppression. Coming across this church in the city, I snapped a photo of this symbol of resiliency.
