We set off from the beautiful beach on Mafia Island on a rickety wooden boat sealed with cotton and coconut oil to see the famous Mafia Island whale sharks that were feeding offshore. As we motored out to where we could see their dorsal fins sticking out of the water, I snapped this photo of the bow of the boat.
