On a windless evening, we found ourselves in a precarious situation: Stuck out in the middle of the river with no wind and no way to get to shore for the night. After floating in circles for half an hour, Mundi flagged down a passing boat, which turned out to be a boy and his father. They operated as the ferry to bring people from the bank of the Nile to the Island we were anchoring at for the night. They graciously gave us a push to the island, refused payment, and zipped off back to work. I managed to snap this photo in the moment they were motoring away.
