Fatima is one of hundreds of women in villages across the Atlas Mountains this is carrying on the tradition of rug making passed down through generations of women in the Amazigh community. The tattoos on her face are traditional in the Amazigh tribes but it is not being continued in the younger generations. She is one of the last with these unique tattoos. The tattoo on her chin is her home tribe, while the one on her forehead is her husbands tribe. This is one of my favorite portraits I have taken.
