Ancient life sized hieroglyphics greeted me as I walked through the ancient tombs in the otherworldly landscape. The quarry located in the complex was used to cut the huge blocks used in the temples used in the area. These massive stone pieces were moved by feluccas not unlike the one sailing me to Luxor thousands of years later.
