From Kars, Turkey, we boarded the Dogu Ekspresi, a sleeper train that travelled from Kars to Ankara. During the twenty six hour journey, I snapped a picture out the window of the Turkish symbol on the background of the lush green Turkish countryside. On the train, my friends and I would celebrate my 23rd birthday at midnight with raki shots and Turkish cuisine.
