The call to prayer, known as the Adhan, is an iconic sound in any islamic country. It occurs at sunrise, mid-day, afternoon, at sunset, and at night. Because Kars is on the border of a time zone, the sun rose at 4:30am and set at 11pm. Therefore, the adhan happened at all hours of the day. I snapped this photo as the people of Kars were gathering for prayer.
